FESTIVAL CAFÉ EM FESTA
Visual Identity

For decades, Minas Gerais has been the largest coffee-producing state in Brazil, accounting for over 50% of the country's total output. Beyond sheer volume, the state stands out for the quality and diversity of its beans, with several growing regions recognized both nationally and internationally.

The Café em Festa festival, held at the Casa Fiat de Cultura in Belo Horizonte, was created to celebrate this leadership and to reposition Minas as the true coffee capital of Brazil — blending tradition, innovation, and cultural identity in a single event.

The visual identity developed for the festival aims to express Minas Gerais’ central role in the coffee world, combining regional symbols with elements from everyday coffee culture in an original, contemporary, and emotionally resonant way.

The starting point was the Minas Gerais state flag, especially its iconic red triangle — a symbol of history, resistance, and local identity. This triangle was reimagined as a coffee filter, transforming a political and cultural emblem into a universal icon of coffee preparation, evoking simplicity, familiarity, and tradition.

The color palette remains faithful to the flag — red, white, and black — and informs a graphic system inspired by various coffee brewing methods, such as the French press, cloth filter, and moka pot, resulting in a cohesive, versatile visual language rich in meaning.
